Since it is Pride Month, I have pointed out the books with LGBTQ+ representation in them (in case you’re looking for some extra books to add to your Pride Month TBR, there is a list at the bottom of this post).
I have marked the the books with LGBTQ+ rep with *.
For #ownvoices LGBTQ+ books I have put **.
If you have any #ownvoices Queer YA Fantasy recommendations, please let me know in the comments!

There are 3 books I have to read this month which I chose from the First Chapter challenge I did.
- The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
- Graceling by Kristin Cashore
- To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
The readathon I am participating in was created by Ishi Time. It is a Percy Jackson readathon called the Olympic Games Readathon! Go watch her video here.
For this readathon I chose Ares as my patron god.
Here are the Prompts and my options for each prompt:
~ Ares is quick to jump into battle without analysing the situation. Read a book you don’t know much about.
A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst **
~ Read a book with a red cover.
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody **
And I Darken by Kiersten White *
~ Read a book that belongs to a series in which an epic battle takes place.
The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan*
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland
~ Read a book featuring a morally grey character.
And I Darken by Kiersten White *
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell *
The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman **
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody **
~ As her lover, Ares spends a lot of time with Aphrodite. Complete a prompt that honours her.
Read a book with a cover you think is beautiful OR Read a book with a strong, independent, female main character (which is basically any books on my TBR).
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst **
The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

Love this post! I highly recommend Dread Nation by Justina Ireland. I read it last year after completely ignoring it and was kicking myself for not jumping on it faster! It also has ACE representation in one of the main characters and I believe it’s mentioned a few times that another main character is bi. Because it’s written in the mid/late 1800s modern identity language isn’t there but the representation is definitely there!
